Northeastern Insurance Launches 1st Local Volunteer Week for 10 Year Anniversary & $30 Million Milestone!
Northeastern Insurance is pleased to announce that as the company approached its 10 Year Anniversary and $30 Million milestone in total business, we launched our first Annual Volunteer Week! Every day for a full week in June, the agency dedicated one day to a different charity and/or local organization to volunteer our services and give back to the Capital Region. Northeastern Insurance’s Volunteer Week was held June 19-June 23 2023, and was able to assist 5 different charities for a variety of causes.
Northeastern Insurance celebrated its 10 Year Anniversary on July 1, 2023 to recognize when President Michael Venezio started the agency back in 2013. Michael Venezio started the company from the ground up, and since then has grown the team to 23 full-time employees with over $30 Million of premium for the agency’s overall book of business. Averaging $3 Million in growth every year since the agency opened a decade ago, Northeastern Insurance has continuously been recognized locally with the Albany Business Review as well as nationally with Inc. Magazine as being one of the Fastest Growing Companies not only in the Capital Region but also the Northeast.
For the first Annual Volunteer Week- the chosen charities/organizations included the Veterans Miracle Center, Salvation Army, Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, Ronald McDonald House, and Things of My Very Own. The goal was to contribute to a variety of causes that organizations are supporting in our community- from services for veterans, families of sick children, children escaping abusive homes, to food pantries and more. Contributions from the Northeastern Insurance employees included everything from sorting donated goods and maintenance work, to supplying and cooking full meals for 10+ families.
“As we approach such an incredible milestone reaching $30 million in premium by our 10 Year Anniversary, it’s extremely important to continue our efforts giving back to the community we’ve grown up in and do business in daily,” said Michael Venezio, President of Northeastern Insurance. “There’s a lot of amazing organizations in our community that support amazing causes, so the more we continue to grow, the more we aim to give back.”
Northeastern Insurance has been heavily involved with the local community in past years as well- most recently organizing a $15,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region in Fall 2022 through Liberty Mutual Insurance Company® and Safeco Insurance® 2022 Make More Happen™ Awards. “It warms our hearts to see the endless dedication our agents have for their nonprofit partners through their volunteering, fundraising and overall awareness efforts,” said Heather Singleton, Safeco Insurance Region Director for NY/NJ.
In addition to the rapid growth of the agency over the past 10 years in terms of both agency book size and employees, Michael Venezio has created an award-winning agency that is just getting started. Michael was inducted into the Albany Business Review 40 Under 40 Class of 2022, and Northeastern Insurance has also been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in the Capital Region for the past 4 years in a row. “We are committed to recruiting the top talent and building a team that is motivated to grow with us for years to come. I plan on doubling the size of my company in the next five years. I would love to be able to offer more people a great place to work and support their families,” said Venezio. “I have some of the best coworkers in the area, who have helped me get to where I am today, including my brother and business partner Joe Venezio.”
Northeastern Insurance aims to continue the Annual Volunteer Week tradition next year, and will be looking for local community input for other great charities and organizations to contribute to and offer volunteer services.
