With July 4th quickly approaching, the Capital Region is filled with tons of events. Ranging from live music, family activities, to fireworks and more. There is an event for everybody this holiday, while celebrating our country and independence!
July 4th Activities in Albany
Come take a tour on the USS Slater DE766, the last World War II destroyer escort that is left afloat in the United States.

Take a visit to the Schuyler Mansion, a Revolutionary War General, Philip J Schuyler’s historic home. The Schuyler Mansion offers a variety of family-friendly activities such as a “Hands-on History tent”, colonial games, tours, ice cream, reenactments, and many more!

Located at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve, come explore the pond and the animals that reside in it!

Hosted by the Underground Railroad Education Center, this event will reflect on how to bring an equitable and just society, as well as providing refreshments, music, and a children’s space.

Come celebrate July 4th in the heart of Albany right at the Empire State Plaza. This event will have local live entertainment, food vendors, pony rides, and bounce houses. There will also be a flyer by the 109AW New York Air Guard, as well as a headlining act from 1970s soft rock band Orleans! Fireworks will be held to perfectly end the night.

Right after a night of dancing, come aboard the 4th of July Fireworks Cruise with Dutch Apple Cruises! Come have a delicious BBQ dinner with a full bar and listen to all of your favorite classic, Oldies hits. Hurry, tickets are limited!

Local Celebrations throughout the Capital Region
There is a firework celebration for everyone to enjoy!
The Schenectady County Historical Society will be hosting the event, featuring live music, local vendors, tours, farm animals, and a firework show over the Mohawk River!
Location: Rotterdam Junction, Mabee Farm Historic Site, 1100 Main St.
When: Wednesday, July 3rd, 5:00 PM -9:00 PM
Saratoga Springs will be hosting an all-day 4th of July celebration! The day will start with the annual Firecracker 4 Road Race at 9:00 AM at the City Center, along with the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 55th annual Flag Day (previously scheduled), from 5 to 7 PM on Broadway. At the end of the night, there will be live music, followed by a fireworks show to start at 9:00 PM.

This event will begin with a 4th of July parade, followed by carnival rides, local vendors, craft fair and live music. There will also be SIRSY performing at 5:30 PM and the New York Players at 8:00 PM, with fireworks planned for 9:30 PM!

This celebration will include live music performed by Johnny Rabb’s Big Band and a firework show at night!

This event will have a 4th of July celebration with a concert showing the Symphonic Sparks, and a firework show at night.

The Village of Northville will have a 4th of July celebration lasting through the weekend! There will be live performances, food vendors, a parade, and a variety of activities, ending with fireworks shot off from Prospect Hill.

Amsterdam’s 4th of July celebration will have food trucks, a water ski show, live music and a firework show on the riverfront.

Fort Plain will hold their Fourth on the Third Majestic Fireworks Show event, and offer cotton candy, face painting, music, smokehouse barbecue and a bounce house for children.

Cohoes will be hosting its Independence Day Celebration with ice cream, food, and a fireworks show for everyone!

The Village of Lake George will be hosting its annual fireworks show over the water, bringing in thousands of people! Lake George offers a variety of activities at this tourist town – including steamboat cruises, local shops, restaurants and more!

This 4th of July celebration will have live, patriotic music performed by the Glens Falls Symphony, as well as featuring food vendors, activities, an antique car show, and a firework show at night!
