Volunteer Week Day 3-Veterans Miracle Center

For our third day of Volunteer Week our team was able to work at the Veterans Miracle Center. Our team included Alescia DeFilippo, Nikki Demeo, Terrell Burns, Steven Jankowski, Matthew Stallmer, Courtney Sprague, Devan Maxstadt, and Meghan Mosch.

About the Veterans Miracle Center:

The mission and goal of the Veterans Miracle Center is to offer Veterans and Active-Duty Military Personnel clothing, personal care, hygiene products, houseware items, and more. A non-profit humanitarian aid organization, Jezreel, that provides clothing and donated goods to countries in need, is also affiliated with the VMC. Both are in the same building at 10 Interstate Ave, Albany, NY 12205. Any items brought in are free of charge for Veterans and their immediate household/family members. Volunteers are always welcome to help Monday-Friday from 9-5 as well as participate in special volunteer nights.

Our Volunteer Work:

This year, our dedicated volunteers hit the ground running, organizing and packaging a wide range of donated goods to support Veterans in need. The team was tasked with sorting through hundreds of items donated by Amazon—including beauty products, household essentials, electronics, and more. A few team members also lent a hand in the clothing section, carefully organizing garments for individuals of all ages. Once everything was sorted, the items were packed and prepped for shipment. It was an incredibly rewarding experience, bringing our team together in support of a truly meaningful cause.

Previous Volunteer Work:

Last year our agents dedicated their morning to help sort and fold donated, brand new clothing ranging from all ages and sizes, and packed them into boxes that were getting shipped to international countries. Additionally, our team sorted and organized other miscellaneous donated goods by different categories, and packed into boxes to be shipped internationally where the items are needed the most.

Impact On Our Team:

Volunteering at the Veterans Miracle Center left a lasting impression on our team members. Working hands-on to support those who have served our country fostered a deep sense of purpose and connection. It was more than just sorting and packing donations—it was an opportunity to give back in a tangible way and come together outside of our regular work environment. “Volunteering at the Veterans Miracle Center was a truly humbling experience,” stated Commercial Account Manager Steven Jankowski. “It reminded me how impactful even a few hours of community service can be, and knowing our efforts were helping Veterans and their families made every moment even more worthwhile.”
