Northeastern Insurance Presents $5,000 Donation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Northeastern Insurance is thrilled to announce that in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the agency completed a company-wide fundraiser to donate $5,000 to the American Cancer Society: Making Strides of Albany.
For the month of October, each day that at least 10 employees wore pink, it earned $500 towards Making Strides of Albany. The team continued to wear pink each day until we reached our goal of $5,000. By wearing pink each day and sharing our journey, we aim to increase awareness throughout the community, while at the same time raise money to support an amazing cause.
When deciding on a fundraiser to support Breast Cancer Awareness, it was important to the agency to come up with something that can simultaneously increase awareness, raise money, and be completely inclusive of our team and the community. We want to get everyone involved in a fun, unique way.
While the agency is making the one lump sum donation of $5,000, Northeastern Insurance has created a team page on the Making Strides of Albany site to increase the total funds raised. Donations can be made through the company’s microsite:
The American Cancer Society: Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a movement that raises lifesaving funds to support breast cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers through every step of the journey. Breast Cancer has affected many people in some way, whether they have personally been diagnosed, a family member, friend, etc. Aside from skin cancer, it is the most common type of cancer in women. The donated money will help fund groundbreaking research, assist in early detection so it’s easier to treat, and provide free information and support. Every penny donated can help save lives in our community.

Northeastern Insurance completes fundraisers every October to raise money for national organizations for Breast Cancer, such as Susan G. Komen. However, this year the company wanted to do something on the local level, yet on a larger scale to benefit the community it serves every day.
Our team is extremely proud to support such an amazing organization in our community and help contribute to the fight against Breast Cancer.
