For the second day of our Volunteer Week, our team was able to visit the Salvation Army of Albany. On Tuesday, June 20th, Mara Chupka, Alexis Sawyer, Matthew Stallmer, and Steven Jankowski all dedicated their morning to volunteer at this great organization located here in the Capital Region. The Salvation Army of Albany is a non-profit organization that works to provide resources for those in need- including clothing, housing, and food.
The Salvation Army of Albany offers resources ranging from helping disaster survivors, combatting addiction, curing hunger, empowering youth, and much more that can help save lives in our community. Northeastern Insurance wanted to contribute in whatever way we could to help support their efforts.
While volunteering, our team was put right to work bright and early! They worked on miscellaneous outdoor maintenance chores to help tidy up the building. Our team also helped paint exterior doors and hand railings to give the building a fresh new look. Additionally, our team assisted with picking weeds to help clean up the outside grounds.
Volunteering had a strong impact on our team, and felt their work would help benefit those in need in our community. “We had a great day with the team representing Northeastern Insurance and helping the local Salvation Army spruce up their building”, Alexis Sawyer said. Our team is definitely looking forward to help volunteer again next year!
